Cello String LARSEN IL Cannone D-RE / Direct & Focused
Il Cannone celebrates Paganini's legacy with what we believe is a truly revolutionary sound.
Sound "Noble and powerful. A biting tone with real power. Very colorful with many intricate harmonics. Clear. Open. Bright. A very quick and easy response, especially in spicatto."
Il Cannone cello strings offer a wide variety of options to choose from to optimize your sound. Built on the powerful foundations of a rich and expressive sound, Il Cannone for cello offers a rich palette of combinations to shape your own sound.
A key element of the Larsen string development process is working with musicians, one on one, testing different string prototypes. The responses and knowledge acquired directly influence the formulation of new designs, with the final phase being the live interpretation. World-renowned cellists such as Sheku Kanneh-Mason, Nicolas Altstaedt, Narek Hakhnazaryan and Jian Wang are currently performing with Il Cannone for cello. During their own personal workshops they found their ideal combination among the same selection that is now available to you.
A wide variety of options, ready to use with different combinations, which avoids the expense and frustration of the trial and error process. The cellist can modify and control the pitch of his instrument in a way that is easy to predict. Il Cannone cello strings can be mixed with each other because all options have a similar moderate tension and are designed to complement each other.
Both the C and G strings have steel string cores and tungsten windings, while the D and A "Warm & Broad" strings have a steel core with a stainless steel winding. The "Direct & Focused" A string uses a unique material that is currently being patented.
